CHÂTEAU DE CONDÉ

Champagne and Sade family

It would be in 1325 that the ancestor of the Marquis, Hugues de Sade, married Laure de Noves. She gave birth to eleven children and died in 1348. The origins of the family is Avignon and the region of Provence.
After the French Revolution, the family migrated to the Champagne region and settled in the château of Condé (in Condé-en-Brie, in the heart of the Champagne producing region). The family stayed there until 1982 and never stopped to be linked to this beautiful and prestigious wine-producing region. It has been 70 years that Domaines & Châteaux de Sade has been producing its own brand "Marquis de Sade" Champagne, in cooperation with top wine-growers and Champagne producers selected for their talent and ancestral know-how.

About the production of our Champagne

It has been 70 years that we cooperate with the best wine-growers and Champagne producers to elaborate our tailor-made Marquis de Sade Champagne exclusive range, under our oenologist supervision.
Our selection is made from the best wines and Champagne from the Côte des Blancs, Côte des Bar, Epernay and the Montagne de Reims. We also elaborate Vintage Champagne but only the best years!
We like to age Champagne for at least 4 years on lies, in order to extract the best aromas of yeast and brioche, typical of this amazing terroir.

Enjoy a sip of our Champagne for the "apéritif", during the meal with oysters and sea-food, or for dessert. Treat yourself, your friends and family with some great Champagne !
